What is a normal blood sugar level during pregnancy?
Fasting GRBS should be below 95 mg/dL. One hour after meals (post-prandial), below 140 mg/dL. Two hours after meals, below 120 mg/dL. These are standard GDM targets — your doctor may set personalised targets based on your profile.
What is the 6-point GRBS profile?
The 6-point profile measures blood glucose 6 times a day: fasting (before breakfast), 2 hours after breakfast, before lunch, 2 hours after lunch, before dinner, and 2 hours after dinner. This gives a complete picture of glucose control throughout the day.
What is the 4-point GRBS profile?
The 4-point profile measures fasting, post-breakfast, post-lunch, and post-dinner. It is commonly used for patients with well-controlled GDM who do not need the full 6-point monitoring.
How does GRBS data reach my doctor?
When you log a reading in Janani, it is saved directly to your clinical record. Your OBG doctor can view the full 7-day trend at your next visit without you needing to bring a paper diary.
How often should I check blood sugar during pregnancy?
This depends on your doctor's advice and your GDM profile. For insulin-treated GDM, daily 6-point monitoring is typical. For diet-controlled GDM, 4-point monitoring 3–4 times a week is common. Always follow your doctor's specific instructions.
